Research

Prelox® has been specifically developed for men and contains two principal ingredients. The first is L-arginine, an amino acid that is one of the basic raw materials used by the body to build protein. Specifically, it builds muscle, helps you resist infection and crucially, it helps your blood vessels maintain their elasticity, improving blood flow to all parts of the body. It also increases the presence of nitric oxide in your body.

The second is pycnogenol®, a patented amalgam of more than three dozen antioxidants extracted from the bark of the French maritime pine. Antioxidants are vital to overall health - they protect against cancer, heart disease and other diseases linked to the chemical action of free radicals. pycnogenol® helps restore elasticity and smoothness to the skin by reinforcing collagen fibres, and it strengthens the capillaries, the tiny blood vessels that help nourish cells.

How it works

When a man is aroused mentally, impulses are sent from the brain through the back and down to the penis. These messages are sent by nitric oxide, and cause the smooth muscles of the penis to relax which allows increased amounts of blood to flow into it. For a normal erection, the penis needs about six times the normal blood flow; this blood flow causes the tissues to expand, creating the increase in size and hardness.

In other parts of the body, increased blood flow through the arteries is matched by increased flow out through the veins; but in the penis, the engorged tissues know as the corpora cavernosa swell up to such an extent that they press against the veins that would normally carry the blood back out, thus maintaining the erection. The ingredients of Prelox® assist and enhance these processes.

The results

Extensive clinical studies in the USA and elsewhere have shown that Prelox® not only improves erection quality and duration in normal, healthy men, it has also proved effective in treating men with varying degrees of erectile dysfunction.

A trial in 2002 of men aged between 30 and 60 with varying forms of erectile dysfunction resulted in 81% of the study group taking Prelox® reporting that the treatment had improved their ability to engage in sexual activity, with 73% indicating they had found it easier to initiate an erection and 70% stating that it was easier to sustain that erection.
